What Melania knows about Trump Protection. . .
and why Women's Bodily Autonomy is actually about Saving the Human Race
The Pussy-Grabber now wants to tell us that he will protect us????!!!!!
I’d worry about Melania, except that I’m positive that she has been smart enough to own Trump way more than he owns her. I’ll bet every appearance where she pretends to care about the vile man no doubt costs him big time. Her only problem is if he goes bankrupt—but I’ll bet she’s investing wisely for all contingencies even now.
And that’s everything, that ability to control not only her body but her destiny, which for women, has to apply to any encounter with a man in one’s life.
Have we forgotten the #MeToo movement? Why has it been left out of the discussion?
Abortion. The story is so wrong. Women are being forced into a defensive position about protecting the sacredness of life by a self-serving, child-and-women-hating worldview that denies that sacredness at every turn.
But here’s the real deal:
Whether in a committed relationship or because of male violence and sexual abuse, we women know ever so deeply that there has been no time in history other than during Roe vs Wade that we have felt more safe.
But not completely safe.
Women know only too well what it is to carry a life within and know that pregnancy means that she is immediately part of a future not of one but of two.
Only a pregnant woman has known the fear of losing her life through childbirth.
Only a pregnant woman has known that if a man deserts her, or refuses to support her and her offspring, she will spend her life with fewer choices both for herself and for her family.
She may not be able to get a job if she is pregnant. She may be vilified for going on welfare.
She may be forced to carry a child and then be abandoned by those who demanded that she produce that child.
If she has been raped, she may be accused of causing the rape. Her partner may abandon her or kill her out of jealousy, or because he doesn’t want to be financially responsible.
Women also know the dread of bringing a child they will love and nurture into a violent world that may cause that innocent being terrible pain and even death. And she will, in turn, know the terrible pain of her inability to protect that child’s future.
We should not have to defend our right to choose, not only a life for ourselves, but also for a quality of life for any child that we bring into the world.
Because hands-down, women are the ones who carry the burdens and the solutions to anything that threatens life.
It takes a mentally ill climate crisis-denier to set up a scenario where more children are forcibly brought into the world when it is 100% KNOWN that over-population is a key driver of the degradation of the planet.
Women know way better than men what it takes to stretch a budget to feed, clothe, and educate children in a family. Especially if she has to leave a bad relationship or is abandoned by the father(s) of her children.
And yet, the idea of “protection” does not in any way pertain to the future of humans on the planet, but only to a sick, ignorant drive to be hateful, controlling, and cruel.
SOME HEADLINES AND LINKS:
From the United Nations: Why women are key to climate action
Women and girls face disproportionate impacts from climate change. They are also driving climate solutions at all levels – as farmers, workers, consumers, household managers, activists, leaders, and entrepreneurs.
From the Brookings Institute: Why is girls’ education important for climate action?
Estimates suggest that together with family planning, girls' education has the potential of avoiding nearly 85 gigatons of carbon emissions by 2050. The impact of fostering girls' climate leadership has been demonstrated by the majority female student climate strikers around the world.
From OneEarth.org: Why women are key to solving the climate crisis
There’s no denying women are leading the fight to save our planet. In every society worldwide, women and girls are responding more effectively in times of crisis and actively working towards creating a more just and sustainable future for all.
Yet, gender inequalities persist worldwide.
Sorry, I am visually impaired and as the AI auditory option is not available here I can’t listen to your words. I’m sure they were spot on.
LOVED this one, Rondi! I'll share it far and wide...and I'm delighted that you are getting so adroitly political in your writing. I'm a fan!
